I invite people from everyday life into my staged settings and with their interaction there comes an unquantified, unpredictable dimension to my staged photographic works. I am questioning reality and who decides what it means. I am investigating the space between reality and fiction and, through staging a photographic theatre using real people a transformation beyond their physical form is made.
Undertones of the unknown are revealed, chance happenings as the juxtaposition of person, place and props unfold.
In this world a bird wing, a fan and an ancient sieve can become hats. Black paper cones could appear as if they were sharp rose thorns in a dark fairy tale.
The ordinary take on a new identity as they deceive us for a short while.
